Adam ZuckermanThe CLEAR Kit
The binder your family will be grateful for.
When my father died I did not need advice. I needed to know where things were.
That is a different problem, and almost nothing on the market was solving it. Estate planning products help you make decisions. Almost none of them help the person who has to act on those decisions at two in the morning, in a house they don’t live in, looking for a policy number.
The CLEAR Kit is the answer to the second problem. It is a set of binders and worksheets that walk you through the information your family will eventually need, section by section, and give each piece of it somewhere to live. Accounts, documents, contacts, property, medical, digital, funeral wishes, the things you would only think of if you had done this before.
Why it is paper
People ask, reasonably, why a physical binder in 2026.
Because the moment it gets used is the moment nobody can log in. The executor does not have the password. The phone is locked. The two-factor code goes to a number that is now disconnected. A binder in a fire resistant case on a shelf is findable by a person who has been handed a key and no instructions, which is the actual situation.
There is a digital half too. Every kit includes the files, and a year of Heirloom & Tell for each adult, because some of this is easier to keep current on a screen. The paper is the part that survives the login.
Essentials and Expanded
Essentials covers the first 22 sections, which is the information a family reaches for first. Expanded covers all 47, which is the rest of a life: property, household, family history, the long tail nobody thinks about until they need it.
Both come for one adult or two, printed or print at home. Start with Essentials. Most people who need Expanded work that out on their own once they see how far the first binder gets them.
