Adam Zuckerman is an entrepreneur, author and attorney whose career has moved through technology, media, entrepreneurial communities, corporate innovation, international nuclear energy and, most recently, the practical realities of death.
He founded Buried in Work in 2023, after serving as executor of his father’s estate and discovering that a law degree and an MBA left him no better prepared than anyone else for what the job actually involved. Buried in Work is now an education platform, a product company and a podcast, spanning checklists, guides, state-by-state directories and physical organization systems. He also founded Heirloom & Tell, a private platform for preserving family stories and belongings, and Buried in Work Charitable, which underwrites free public education including End of Life Careers.

Earlier, Adam led international business development for Last Energy, deploying small modular nuclear reactors. As Director of Ventures and Innovation at Discovery, Inc. he built the company’s Consumer Experience Lab, shipped its first voice products and led strategic startup investments. He co-founded Fosterly, which connected entrepreneurs across the Washington region, and Variable Labs, an enterprise training platform built on virtual and augmented reality. He taught innovation and entrepreneurship as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland, appeared as an on-air guest analyst on CNBC, and was named a Zhi-Xing China Eisenhower Fellow in 2018, one of nine Americans selected that year, and its J.T. Tai Fellow in 2019. Washingtonian has twice named him a Tech Titan. He holds a United States patent for presenting virtual reality inside a moving vehicle.
He holds a BA in political science, a JD and an MBA, all from Washington University in St. Louis. He was born and raised in Potomac, Maryland.
